The player
Practice has become the rhythm of everyday life.
Annika Suominen, from Forssa in Finland, began playing cue sports in 2021 and started training regularly the following year. In her Finnish Billiards Federation player profile, she says she usually practises snooker for several hours a day.
Annika names cue action, long potting and safety play among her strengths. Her rise to the national top has been rapid: Finnish women’s snooker bronze in 2023, Finnish snooker gold and pool doubles gold in 2025, followed by her first women’s 9-ball ranking event victory in March 2026.
The focus is now international – the next measure of progress is competing against Europe’s best.
